If only they would stop releasing images of Sex in the City 2 already!
I mean one of the biggest reasons us ladies (and some gents too) watch the show is the amazing fashion. If they show us all the fashion before the movie comes out it kills the excitement. What do you ladies think, does it matter that they are releasing so many images of the fashions beforehand or does that not bother you at all?
Ciara has never been someone high on my style radar, but i do have to admit she has been a rising star on the fashion circuit these last couple of months. Alot of people say she is copying Beyonce but quite honestly while there are obvious similarities, i think Bey was always a more "classy" dresser (c'mon, she does well when Mama Tina isn't dressing her up in that Dereon crap) and CiCi was always changing up her style. If anything i think it was just her misfortune that Bey also decided to take a edgier route at the same time she did.
Here are a few of my fave looks CiCi has been wearing lately. This girl is definitely one to keep an eye on. Lets just hope her album producer is as good as her stylist!
I have never been to a gym (high school gym does not count) so i have never had a need for workout clothing, but as i have gotten older i have definitely gained a few (ok maybe more then a few!) pounds and i definitely cannot get away with the bad eating habits that i used to be able to get away with. So i started looking into gyms and of course workout gear. While i have decided that a gym is not for me (i mean $60a month for a membership NYSC??) i definitely think that i can start walking around the block then eventually progress into jogging. ANd of course as a motivator i think a cute walking outfit will definitely get me into the swing of things. Check out the outfit i put together:
I know i wont need a gym bag for walking in my own neighborhood but it was too cute, i couldnt pass it by!
Since i know i am a major shopaholic and have a tendency to buy any and everything on a whim, I am all about lists and pre planning my shopping expeditions in order to avoid the dreaded buyers remorse. Its about that time that i start working on my summer wishlist, but this time i decided to "shop" my own closet, and then list items that i would need to acquire to compliment what i already have. After all, we are in a recession. Here goes my list:
"shopping my closet"
cotton summer dresses (luckily last year i stocked up on simple A line sheath style in Navy, Gold, and White, plus i bought the purple dress from this post a first for me! and the green dress was sold out *insert sad face* so i bought it in black)
Skirts (i have a...i don't know how to describe it, i think it looks metallic/denimy skirt, plus a couple of white skirts and some patterned skirts in neutral colors...think black and white, brown and white)
Flat sandals (i have some beautiful yet simple Coach flats i bought 2 years ago in brown, white and gold)
Flats (alas, i have only one pair, black Coach flats. i definitely need to stock up!)
basic tees (for some strange reason i have alot of black basic tees, i cant find any lighter colors, i probably stained them and tossed them)
esparadilles (i LOOVE esparadilles, they are soo comfy)
Bags (bags for days in my closet, i definitely dont need anymore!)
Necessary Purchases
Capris - As you can see from above list, i usually stick with dresses and skirts. well i definitely need a pair of capris or 2
light weight jacket - for those chilly summer nights
socks - i ALWAYS forget to buy summer socks! and i hate hate hate wearing sneakers without socks.
Flats - as i said above, flast are definitely a necessary buy. You can never have too many
esparadilles - i have 2 old pair, but one is a fiery red/orange color so i need a more neutral one
tank tops
Okay so that was just a quick list, i think i have covered all the basics to get me through the summer, but if you think i've missed anything please let me know!
Check out this site i ran across, www.winknyc.com, they have a great selection on accessories, handbags and footwear. They also have a great selection of skirts and dresses that are generally in neutral or bold solid colors, but are kicked up a notch with frills, bows and pleats.
When i was younger i wouldn't be caught dead wearing a dress or skirt. In high school a can count on one hadn how many times i wore a skirt or dress. But once i started working at a retail store during college whose dresscode banned pants on women, i suddenly found myself loving skirts and dresses. I have to say in the late spring/begining summer my dresscode is 80% dresses/skirts so of course now that Old Navy (yes that store again, can you tell im obsessed??) has debuted their collection of spring dresses you know i was super excited to check out what they have and make a wishlist. Here are a few dresses that caught my eye:
Tank Dress $34.50
Tonal Polka Dot Dress $39.50 (look closely and you can see the polka dots, super cute!)
Smocked Shirt Dress on sale for $34.50 (originally $39.50)
Flutter sleeve dresss $34.50
They also have a really cute lightweight trenchcoat:
$49.50
And a 2 toned belt:
$14.50
And last but not least, i've always wanted a pair of wellies, and these are cute AND cheap
Obviously with the economy the way it is and the reported dismal sales this winter, alot of retailers are having crazy (crazy = good) sales on alot of various items hoping to get us into the stores or online to spend some money. I found some great Coast and jackets that i woud definitely invest in for next year (i seem to need a new coat each winter, dont ask me why!).
Definitely some great sales going on now ladies, and since those tax refunds will be sent out soon, i think some shopping is in order! (after we pay off any debts we may have of course).
I just had to show you this one picture that i loved. I am loving everything about this pic, the jewelry, the clothes and especially the shoes, THOSE SHOES!!! gosh, *swoon*!
So of course i had to let you ladies know about the great deal going on at Old Navy for te next 4 days. I think this offer is only for card members (Gap Card, Banana Republic Card also can be used) online but if you go in store im sure they have already taken the markdowns off all their clearance items. I had to pick up a few things myself and let me tell you, seeing my shopping bag go from $100 to $52 was pretty awesome (tax and $7 shippping; if you spend more then $150 shipping is free). Here are the items i picked up:
$9.99 (i actually bought a brown tweed)
$3.99 (bought it in white as well)
$8.49
$8.49
$6.49
I think i got a great haul for $52. I'm so happy~!
